Does a reliable floor–drainage connection exist?

RESEARCH / 19 / 07 / 2017

Until now, no proper study or research has taken place to investigate the behaviour of common floor-drainage connections and develop a precise design guideline. As a result, Sika – a market-leading resin flooring company, and ACO - a leader in the development and manufacture of hygienic drainage systems, joined forces and adopted a professional and scientific approach to this issue. A three year study and research program was commissioned to provide a clear evidence-based guidance with regard to flooring-drainage connections for factory and processing facility operators.

ACO pipe - varnished

RESEARCH / 05 / 06 / 2017

The corrosion of stainless steel due to contact with regular carbonated steel is a well understood risk in the industry. Even micro particles arising from onsite cutting, grinding or welding are sufficient to initiate development of galvanic corrosion, which significantly reduces lifetime of stainless steel components.

Fraunhofer cleanability research 2016

RESEARCH / 27 / 10 / 2016

The research findings of the Fraunhofer Institute IVV Dresden clearly show that the use of ACO’s hygienically designed channel dramatically improves cleanability. Hence, reducing the risk of bacterial contamination and ultimately helping food manufacturing companies and foodservice outlets improve the safety of their facilities and their products.
